Pat--Re the Elias Mackey married Louise Wall, I found two websites:
The migrations of this family are described. On the 2nd site is an item "1805 Knox Co KY Land Transaction--Matthew McKey, Thomas Potter, Thomas Wilkerson, who had land on Flat Creek [Permon, Knox Co KY]." These families may have migrated together. Elias' son Benjamin married Mary Potter. It appears that Elias' children excepting Alexander migrated to Missouri. Matthew is not listed as a child of Elias on these sites. Matthew is on the 1810 Knox Co KY census. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kyknox/Census/1810-Census.html Elias' son Mathias Wall Mackey and Matthew are listed separately on the 1810 census. Mathias died in 1813 (War of 1812).
On this census the spelling was McKey and Matthew's spelling is McKee. Matthew's household shows 7 children, 3 males under 10, 1 male 10 & under 16, 3 females under 10. I show he married Mary "Polly" Clark in Grainger Co TN 23 Apr 1800.
I have a notation that Hawkins & Mary McKee are buried at McKee Cemetery, Whitley Co KY at a place called McKee Bend near the above mentioned Permon KY, also called Thunderstruck Shoals.
You may have much of this info. I looked at this family as they were in Washington Co VA near where my gr gr gr gf was an orphan in Grayson Co VA in 1811.
These are message board posts: Whitley Co KY #213, #247; McKee #2243; Mackey #491, #654. All are about 10 yrs ago.
Also a rootsweb archiver thread from 2002: McKee from Mathew to Gabriel at http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/cumberland-river/2002-07/1025755069
There are tons of questions here, but maybe some good clues too.
