Thomas Field is my GGG Grandfather. He was born in 1785 in Massachusetts(?). .He died in Jackson, Michigan in 1872.He married Charity McCain (McKain) ,born 7-11 –1798.and died either 7-4-1877 or 4-7-1877 in Jackson, Mi. Charity is the daughter of Abel and Mercy McKain of N.Y. state. I suspect that Thomas married Charity in or around LeRoy NY. Following is what I know of the children: 1.William Field,( my gg grandfather)b. 1823 in NY state, believed to be LeRoy 2. Horace Field b. 4-1-1829, though census math indicates 1827. He was born in Genesee county NY. ,died, 12-4-1904. 3.Mary Field b. abt. 1832 NY State 4.Lucy Field b. abt. 1835 in Jackson county Michigan. 5. Emily Field b .abt. 1836, in Jackson county 6.Sabra Field b. abt. 1839, in Jackson Co. 7.female(name unknown) b. between 1820-1825 8.female (name Unknown) b. between 1820-1825 9.female (name unknown) b. between 1810-1820 10. female (name unknown) b. 1825-1830 We know from different sources that Thomas and family moved to Jackson County Mich. in 1833, on a steamer called William Tell from Buffalo to the port of Detroit. I am assuming that all children born before 1833 were born in LeRoy NY. In 1835, Thomas purchased 80 acres of land in Jackson County,, Mi. .,Section 8,Summit Township. Cert., #1906, where he farmed for a period of years. There is a Thomas Field listed in the 1830 census in Bergen township, Genesee co.NY , that I presume to be him. Looking for any links to either Field or McKain families. Thanks |
