Ian, since you mention Ayr, I'll throw out this potential piece of your puzzle. Sadly, as it relates to the McFadzean line, this is all I've got. Jane (or Jeanie?) McFadzean b. 22 Sep. 1830, Kirkowen, Wigtown married William Millar b. 29 Oct 1827 Old Cumnock, Ayr on 1 Jun 1851 in Kirkowen. Children: William Ronald, James, John, Marion, Janet Ronald, Jeanie, Agnes, Alexander Mackie, Archibald. Jane d. 13 Apr 1907 at Glenluce, WIgtown William d. 4 Mar 1911 at Glenluce, Wigtown
