MANUS McFADDEN resided in Kildarragh townland of Clondahorky Parish, Dunfanaghy, Donegal in mid 1850. He lived almost 100 years and possibly had more than 1 wife. My great grandmother JULIA(Giley) McFADDEN SHERIDAN (1845) emigrated from Londonderry to Philadelphia, PA, USA about 1867-8. Her death certificate of 1907 lists a MANUS McFADDEN and ELLEN BROGAN who remained in Ireland as parents. These siblings, also went to Phila: Hugh(1834), Dennis(1847), Frank or Francis(1847) and Sarah(1853). In 1870-1880 they resided near St. Anne's RC church on Leigh Ave in Port Richmond neighborhood. Hugh married a KELLY in Scotland prior to emigration, Dennis married a FERRY , Julia a SHERIDAN, and Sarah an O'Hara all in Phila. Other siblings may include: Mary Ellen, Susan. There were probably more. Hugh,Dennis and Julia's husband Peter Sheridan worked in shipyards. They were somehow related to another MANUS McFADDEN(1818 Donegal-1880 Phila) married to Margaret with children: John(1845), Sophia(1848), Unity(1850),Dominick(1853), James and Margaret. They also lived in St. Anne's parish. I am seeking information on any of these McFaddens but particularly on MANUS of Kildarragh - who was/were wife/wives? Names of children? |
