Edna McDonell Morris, avid McDonell researcher, died November 10, 2008, Blount Co. TN. She descends from Henry McDaniel / McDonell (ca. 1755 - 1825) and Fanny, who settled in Surry Co. NC. She also descends from Jinny McDonald who married Patrcik Guin. Her extensive research material was given to the Cades Cove Preservation Society. The Daily Times, (Blount Co. TN) Wednesday, November 12, 2008: "Edna McDonell Morris, age 95, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and was recently honored as the oldest member. Edna was preceded in death by husband, Elihu Morris; father, Odas McDonell; mother, Beulah White McDonell. She is survived by a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adrian Jones and Rev. Greg McDonell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home."
