I located a baptism record for William McCoy in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, Maryland. His birth date was March 22, 1818 and baptism date September 1822. His parents were William and Sarah McCoy. I didn't find any other mention of them in these church records. I think this may be the William I'm looking for but I'm not sure. At some point he moved to Ohio. The 1850 and 1860 censuses put him in Pickaway County. The 1870 and 1880 censuses put him in Wyandot County. The 1850 census says he was a laborer, the 1860 a farm laborer, 1870 he was an attending mason and in 1880 a RR watchman. His wife was Catherine Stevens and their children were Nathan, William, Elizabeth, George, Adam, Lewis and Mary. I thought I had located his grave/death record but now think that it was the wrong William. I would like to know when and where he died and who his parents were. I can't place them in any other published tree. What was Sarah's last name? Who were William's parents? Does anyone have any information they could share with me or point me in the right direction?
