Serving as a Union Soldier in the Civil War 1861+ from Vermont were

Archibald McCole of Ryegate, Caledonia Co., VT, who served in the 4th Regt., Co. H., and died June 22, 1862, of disease. [page 134]

Henry McCole of Ryegate, Caledonia Co., VT, who served in the 4th Regt., Co. H., Re-enlisted Dec. 15, 1863; Promoted Corp. Nov. 1862; Promoted Sergt. Sept. 21, 1865, Wounded May 5, 1865; Transferred to Co. E, Feb. 25, 1865, and mustered out July 13, 1865. [page 134]

Robert McCole
of Ryegate, Caledonia Co., VT, who served in the 11th Regt., Co. A, and died Feb. 4, 1865 of disease. [p. 415]
