For those of Cherokee heritage, there is the United Cherokee Annual Festival and Native American Pow-Wow which will be held on the weekend of April 17-19th.

Directions to the Cherokee Festival and Pow-Wow:

Location: 3550 Creek Path Road, Gunterville, Alabama
Directions: From US Hwy 431 in Gunterville (at Holiday Inn) take AK Hwy 79 Souty for .7 of a mile to Cherokee Elementary School. Turn Right on Willow Beach Rd., then turn left on Creek Path Road to Pow-Wow.

Schedule:

Friday, April 17th: Children's Day with free admission.
Exibition: Dancing, singing, demonstrations of crafts, story tellers, flute playing, archery, flint-kapping.

Saturday, April 18th: Admission $5.00/vehicle Gates open 8:00am until 9:00pm. Dancing, Drumming, Demonstartions.
Grand Entry: Noon until 7:00p.m., bon fire and story- telling until dark.

Sunday, April 19th: Admission $5.00/vehicle
10:00am until 5pm.
Grand Entry 12:00am
12:00-5:00pm

Concessions available, shower facilites, handicap facilities, primitive camping available, EMT and security.
