I am doing research on my wife's family, and would like to know if anyone has information that might help me trace her Maxson roots. Here is what I have, starting at her ggrandmother:
Edith Maxson (b. 1883, KS - d. 1929, IA)
William H. Maxson (b. 1857, IL) m. Maggie Nance (b. 1861, IN)
Census records show that William's parents were born in NY and PA. This matches an 1860 census record for Truman (b. 1815, NY) and Amanda (b. 1829, PA) Maxson in Bernadotte, IL. The only other Maxson connection I have for William is in the 1910 census in South Dakota. He is living next door to John L Maxson (b. 1866, IL) who also has parents from NY and PA. I am assuming they are brothers.
I am looking for anything which could help prove (or disprove) that my William is the son of Truman and Amanda.
