I will have to search my notes further on the parents of Moses. In the meantime, I thought you might be interested to note that in the 1850 census western district of Marion Co. WV that Moses and Elsey (Wright) Matheny with two sons James age 14 and Nathan age 12 were living next door to James E. and Elizabeth (Matheny)Jones [my G grandparents]with first daughter Sophia (age 2). Also of note, I believe I read that Moses Matheny had an illigitimate son - mother was Parrish family (will have to look up first name and more information if you want it). The Parrish family was also living (per census) in the Marion district at that time. Also of note, I have an original photo of Elizabeth Matheny Jones and would be glad to send you a copy plus I have in my possesion the "wedding bowl" that belonged to Elizabeth Matheny Jones. I could send you that photo also. The photo of Elizabeth is posted on the Adams County Iowa website along with other Jones family (WV to IA)information.
