One last thing on William. I was able to find two Williams born 1868 in the 1880 cenus. While these may not be your William they will give you something to look into. Here they are, hope they help 1880 census for District 12, Bradley, Tennessee Pleasant Matheny, age 58 - Adaline Matheny, wife, age 38 - Sarah Matheny, daughter, age 30 - Frances Matheny, daughter in law, age 19 - William Matheny, grandson, age 12 - David Matheny, grandson, age 8 - Joseph Matheny, grandson, age 4 1880 census for Parks Springs, Weakley, Tennessee John Matheny, age 51 - Marcy Matheny, wife, age 25 - Lonzo Matheny, son, age 15 - Susan Matheny, daughter, age 14 - William Matheny, son, age 12 - Elnora Matheny, daughter, age 8 - Lucy Matheny, daughter, age 6 - John Matheny, son, age 4 - Joseph Matheny, son, age 7 months
