It's been confirmed--Curtis Mastin was my ancestor. His daughter,(Eva)line Mastin married John W. Morton abt. 1895 in Clark Co., KY. They had a daughter, Anne Jefferies Morton who married Frank William Jones of Clermont Co., OH. My father was their youngest son, James Morton Jones. Eva's death certificate lists a Mary Burrus as her mother, but I believe it to be Nancy Manserrena Burris. She died in Powell Co., Ky on 28 Apr 1940 and is buried in Winchester, KY, where she and John spent most of their lives as storekeepers. (Eva would have been your John's sister.) Would love to hear from anyone with more information of these people.
