Hannah Marden, d/o James Marden and Judith Bates, married Samuel Clark 1758 in Rye, NH - by the time they had their 9th child abt 1779, they were in Dorchester, Grafton, NH, and remained there. Their oldest was John Clark, b.bef 1760, and married Abiagail (----) in 1784, most likely in Grafton Co.
I am looking for the parents of my g-g-g-grandfather, John Clark, who moved from Grafton Co to La Salle Co, IL in 1839. By matching names and birthdates, I know his wife was Sarah/Sally Cook, d/o of Lt Moody Cook of Campton, Grafton, NH. In Stearns' "History of Plymouth, NH", Vol I, it shows the 4 Mar 1812 marriage of Sarah Cook and John Clark, JUNIOR. So, I am looking for the right John Clark, Sr.
There is a single birth IGI at familysearch that shows my g-g-g-grandfather, John Clark, b.17 Sep 1788, Holderness, Grafton, NH; birthdate and location correlate with printed histories of La Salle Co, IL.
I think my John Clark has to be the son of John Clark & Abigail (----) and grandson of Samuel Clark and Hannah Marden.
Can any Marden researchers help? Any know the children of John Clark & Abigail (-----)?
