Searching for descendants of Mary L Baxter (1847 Maryland), wife of Dr John Cooke (1846 Scotland). They were married 1873 in Will County Illinois. Moved to Hastings NE between 1875 and 1878. Had 2 children: -- Isabella Cooke (1875 Illinois), married Russell R Marble (1871 MI). Married about 1904. She also went by the name Hellen C Marble. -- Charles Neill Cooke (1878 NE) Isabelle Cooke and Russell R Marble had 2 daughters -- Helen Marble (abt 1913 NE), librarian in 1930 -- Louise Marble (abt June 1915 NE) Ancestors of Mary L Baxter were William Baxter (1804 Scotland) and Ellen Sommerville (1806 Scotland). Wm and Ellen are buried in Oakwood Cem in Wilmington, IL. Ellen also called Helen.
