While purchasing the headstone for my fathers grave I had a chance to speak with the owners of Hirons Memorial Works in Brown County Ohio. He provided me with a map of all of the local cemeteries. I have posted a copy of this map at:
I was told that the grave of Theordore Malott was just up the road at the Greenbush Cemetery. He said that the Daughters of the American Revolution found out that his grave marker was not in good shape. They asked for the government to pay for a new one, which they will do for veterans. When they went to pull the old one up they found another one below that. Someone else got the same idea years ago. Currently a nice stone marks his grave with the bottom annotation "A soldier of the American Revolution."
I am quite proud of this noble heritage as I am from his lineage: Me, Leroy, George, William, Delos, Prather, Theodore "Dory".
My family and I will be going to Brown County on the Memorial Day 1999 Weekend. If anyone is in the area and plans on doing any grave decorating please let me know, I would love to see you. I plan on taking some pictures of headstones.
Does anyone have any suggestions on Malott locations?
Thanks for your time! I love this Mail group!
