According to the 1900 census records, Peter Mallett was born in Maryland in March 1863. Both his mother and father were born in Maryland. His wife, Orizina M. was born in Missouri in April 1857. Her father was born in Kentucky and her mother was born in Illinois. Gussy R. (male) was the only child in the household in 1900. There was a Peter Mallett living in Pike County, Missouri in 1880, b. about 1860, who with parents John and Ann b. about 1824 and 1826, and brothers Thomas and Moses (b. in the 1860s) who were all born in Maryland. There was also a Silas Mallett b. in the 1860s who was living with brother-in-law Charles Brown b. Maryland and his wife Carrie who was b. in Maryland in 1848. There is also a Dena Booker in 1880 Pike County born in Missouri in 1857 who was the daughter of Richard and Lucinda Booker. Richard was born in Kentucky and Lucinda in Illinois. So, I think these are the families of your Peter Mallett and Dena Booker. This is confirmed by the Orzena/Arzina death certificate from Ozark County. Silas and John Mallett have death certificates in Pike County. Moses Mallet has a death certificate in Jackson County, MO that lists his parents as John Mallett and Ann MacElhaney. It states that he was born in Baltimore, Worshire County, MD in 1853 not the 1860s. My guess is that the real birth location was Worcester County, MD. Now, (Joh) Thomas Mallet's death certificate from Pike County indicates that his mother was Annie Kelley and that he was born in the 1850s not the 1860s.
