Dear Bob: I have a great aunt, Mary MacDonald, from North Uist, Scotland who married Peter Madore of Sydney, N.S. in 1856. Peter was the son of Louis Madore and Mary Martin, and was a habor pilot at Sydney. I do not know of any connection to your family, but the name is not that common in N.S. Many of the French had moved to New Orleans. I found Madore births and marriages, however, in the records of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in North Sydney. Jack MacDonald jacmac43@yahoo.com
