I discovered that Ellen Maclean, wife of Robert Macpherson born in Pictou, NS about 1823, is a sister of my gg-gm Flora Maclean Maclean. Flora Maclean married Lauchlan MacLean who was born in Margaree, Cape Breton. Lauchlan, son of Charles and Nancy MacLean, moved to New Brunswick from Cape Breton in the 1840s and married Flora in 1856. On every census, the Macphersons lived next door to the MacLeans and they named their children with many of the same names. I'd love to know of any descendents of Robert Macpherson who know anything about Ellen and where in NS/Cape Breton she came from. I have not been able to find out who Flora and Ellen's parents were.
