The biography of AMASA MASON LYMAN (Volume 1 of LYMAN FAMILY HISTORY Pub 1957 by Melvin A. Lyman, M.D., Delta, Utah), p.259: "Early in July (1873) he got a disorder in his lungs, and had difficulty in breathing." "On the 25th of that July, 1873, ...I dropped a heavy shigle block on my foot, bursting it on one side of the joint." There seems to be no definite illness indicated but, rather, a gradual deterioration until, finally, death.
