Samuel is my 7th g grandfather I don't have the ancestors of Elizabeth, but I would be very interested if you find them. If you think I can add any thing to what you already have on the Lyamns just ask, I'll be glad to help out. 1. Elizabeth1 Smith was born Abt. 1702 in Lebanon , New London Co., Connecticut, and died February 28, 1750/51 in Lebanon, New London Co, Connecticut (Source: : Barbour Collection, Lebanon Vital Records, Vol D p 79.). She married Samuel Lyman, Jr (Source: (1) Lyman COLEMAN D.D., Genealogy of the Lyman Family in Great Britain and America, (Albany,N.Y. J. Munsell State Street 1872), p 58 Ref # 11., (2) Barbour Collection, Lebanon Vital Records, Vol 1 p 170.) January 30, 1722/23 in Suffield, Connecticut (Source: Vital Records of Suffield, Connecticut, Vol 1.), son of Samuel Lyman and Elizabeth Fowler. He was born May 22, 1700 in Lebanon, New London Co., Connecticut (Source: Vital Records of Lebanon, Connecticut, Barbour Collection, p 170.), and died February 4, 1754 in Lebanon, Windsor, Connecticut (Source: : Barbour Collection, Lebanon Vital Records, Vol D p 79.). Notes for Samuel Lyman, Jr: According to another tradition, or record, the wife of Samuel was Elizabeth Fowler, but the improbability that the names of the wives of both father and son were the same, casts supiscion on the supposition, and the records of Suffield justify us in ascribing to the son Elizabeth Smith as his Wife Samuel of Lebanon & Elizabeth of Suffield, Connecticut, Int. Pub. Sept 29, 1722 Vital Records of Suffield, Connecticut, Samuel Lyman and Elizabeth Smith of this town, were joined in marriage, January the 30th, 1722/3 |
