I'm researching the BALDWIN lineage, but I thought I would pass on the following two obituaries for Frederick Lyman, and his spouse, (my gg-aunt, Eliza Ellen Baldwin).

" MORTUARY"

Frederick Lyman, Sr., died of paralysis Sunday at 2:20 a.m. following an illness of over two years. The deceased was born in LaPorte county, January 20, 1850, and therefore was 67 years and ten months old. Most of his life was spent in this county. He was married to Eliza Ellen Baldwin, of this county, November 11, 1873, in Berrien County, Mich. Six children survive besides the wife. They are: Mrs. Maude Chulip, 501 Jefferson ave., at whose home his death took place; Mrs. William H. Chulip; Fred Lyman, Jr., Mrs Ernest Gariepy; Mrs. Palmer and Mrs Joseph DeVoto, all of LaPorte. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock ath the home of Mrs. Maude Chulip, 501 Jefferson avenue. Rev. David LeB. Goodwin will officiate and burial will be at the Pine Lake cemetery. Friends may attend the services at the house, but burial will be private. Cutler Bros. are in charge."

Mrs. Ellen B. Lyman

Mrs. Ellen Baldwin Lyman, age 79. of 607 Harrison street, passed away at 10 o'clock last night at Chesterton, Ind.

The daughter of William and Susanna Baldwin, Mrs. Lyman was born at Medaryville, Ind., in 1856. She had lived here for the past 50 years.

She was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Maude Chulip of Cleveland, O., and Mrs. Goldie Gariepy, Mrs. Myrtle Palmer and Mrs. Vivian Devoto, all of LaPorte;; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Cutler Brothers chapel. The Rev. George J. Childs will officiate and burial will be in Pine Lake cemetery.

The body may be viewed tomorrow at Cutler Brothers chapel.
