I have a little different info on Lusk WY. I visited there about two weeks ago - 9/13/00. Frank S. Lusk was the founder of Lusk WY and was a large ranch owner there, owning at least two large ranches. His horse ranch was located where the town of Lusk now stands. He obtained the first permit for a US Post Office in that area and thus the name of Lusk was give to it. He built a beautiful home in Lusk for his mother and grandmother and they lived there for many years and, in fact, died there. Frank also founded Casper and Douglas WY. He was born in Buffalo, NY, died in Missoula Montana and is buried in Cleveland Ohio, as are his grandmother, mother, sister and wife. You can obtain a lot of information from the Niobrara Co. Library in Lusk; E-mail Address: firstname.lastname@example.org. The Librarian is Debbie Sturman. A gentleman in Lusk did a family history in 1963 on that family and that is the info that is in the library.
Hope this helps.
I'm looking for info on James W Lusk, father of Frank and any possible connection to my great grandfather A.O. (Alva or Alvah Oliver) Lusk, possibly from Missouri. Lived most of his adult life in Nebraska and died in Filmore County, NE.
