Dear Alethea,
Well glad to hear from you. Well I hope to hear from you
again. It sounds like you might know quite abit about the lusk family. Now I am not sure about Jonathan R. being adopted By Jonathan B. That is my best Guess because I know for a fact that My great-Grandma was part Indian. It is like I said it is well-known in our family that Jonathan R. was married to Delpha mcclain and he was Indian either full or part. However while Doing research I have come into A couple of other John R lusk so I challenge you into proving that your John R is the same as My great great-grandfather John R. My Jonathan R. lusk Married Delpha (delphia by your spelling) Mcclain and had 6 daughters no sons that I know of. One was My great grandmother Sarah Louise.I do know all of sarahs sisters names. One was Eva and she was alive up until 1998, there was some sort of falling out between Eva and Sarah probably Eva and the others as well although I don't know what about. She doesn't speak to us at all. I tried to speak to Eva but she hung up on me as soon as I said i was Sarah's great grandaughter. If she is still alive She won't talk to you. which is to bad cause I know she has all the info. My address is P.o Box 122, underwood Ia.51576 Address it to Y.donate
Now I have no information pre jonathan R. this is why I never knew about the apdoption so I would really like to know about that along with the civil war records you have on Jonathan B. Although I did come across some stuff about
Jonathan B. divorce. So i think you are saying that Jonathan B. new wife adopted Jonathan R. IF that is so then it is
possible that Jonathan R. real mother was Indian. But I can say strongly that My grandmother told me that Jonathan R. was married to Delpha Mcclain. She wrote it down for me years ago. And I have had it all this time. She also said
Choctaw and he was from Illinois although I never knew b-dates or places. I would really like to know where
Jonathan R. is buried. That might be where to look if there are sons.Do you know of other Childen of Jonathan R. other than the six girls. that I know of.I take it however he was adopted and had to new Parents who were they.and you say that Nancy might have been Indian.
