Hi Karie -
I talked to you before, but I've got a little more information now.
I have a Jonathan Riley Lusk born 17 April 1858 to Jonathan B Lusk and Nancy Jane Conner in Indiana, probably Warrick County but maybe Pike County.
The date comes from a guardianship paper, which says he'll be 13 years old on 17 Apr 1871. But that's pretty close, considering how unconcerned most people seemed to be about exact dates. And, you see, he was an orphan. The guardianship is in Wayne County,Illinois, where his father, Jonathan B. is buried.
I will be happy to send you transcipts of the Civil War files I got on Jonathan B. - and all the info I've got on the rest of the family.
In brief, Jonathan B. Lusk was born between 1831 and 1835 in Greenup County, Kentucky to Andrew Lusk and Charlotta Hull.
Andrew was born between 1803-1807 in Tazewell County, Virginia to Samuel Lusk and Sarah Bailey.
Samuel was born abt. 1775 to Samuel Lusk and Susannah Stevenson.
After that it gets a little iffy.
Do get in touch (again) - I've got lots to share.
Oh, one more thing - the Conners may be part Native American. I haven't traced them back, but a lot of Connerses are.
