My information comes from many sources, but first, From marriages in glasgow & Cemetary records from Greyfiars in Glasgow ,Virginia Ships records (many were Merchants and ships ' Captains and owners of Ships). Certainly not all came from Glasgow, but My branch did,and even worked for another of my Scots branch, the Spiers of Glasgow, captained some of thier ships as well. The records ARE THERE. I have spent 35 years looking for them, and hopefully will Go to Scotland
shortly to gather more facts.Glasgow was THE SHIPPING PORT of the 18th Century, and the Lusks were movers and shakers of thier time. My branch first came into the New Jersey and Long Island area of america, then moved over into Pennsylvania, then moved into Virginia.I welcome all comments and inquiries, and any errors I make as well,as in this "hobby" it is so easy to do.One researcher claims the Lusk's were orininally Danes, came to Glasgow as merchants, but so far I cannot confirm this,& I try to check all other research as speculation, until I also can find the evidence.I am proud my wife is a "Lusk from RUSK",as here aunt always liked to say.
