Do you know what happened to Nancy as an adult? My great grandmother married Andrew Jackson Smith, probably in Jasper CO but I have not yet found a marriage record. They did live in Joplin for a while and I think in Newton Co, possibly in Granby. They moved to Galena Ks area in 1880s and lived in Galena and in Empire City, both mining towns in Cherokee Co area. I found Nancy listed in the 1900 Cherokee Co census with her husband "Jack" and 3 surviving children. She had 9 total and at least 2 sets of twin, maybe 3 sets. She died in 1903. Her death record is very sad. She is listed as being born in America with no listing of parents. My only record of where her parents were born is from the 1900 census. It makes you wonder if her family abandoned her or if she was a runaway or something. Any family stories exist about your Nancy? Donna
