My ancestor: Joseph Lounsberry born 8 Mar 1776, Stamford, Fairfield, CT died 15 Mar 1828, Conklin, Broome, NY Married: 17 May 1801 Mary Polly Whitney Notes: Joseph Lounsberry--Ensign (1807), Lieut. (1810), NY Militia, a solid citizen of his community (Tioga & Broome Counties) had a large mill on the Susquehanna river near Binghamton, NY. It was destroyed by big flood 1827. This event may have been a contributing factor leading to his death a year later. Family were Presbyterians. Grave sites are lost. There is a WILL on record, married twice, 2nd wife was Hanna Whitney (sister of his 1st wife [m. 2nd Feb 1815]). Excellent family records exist. Among those listed "Joshua W.H. Lounsberry" son of Joseph and Mary was born 18th Feb. 1809. Please contact me: grannyann70@yahoo.com |
