Update on information. I have been researching newspaper articles on obituaries, cemetery tombstones and records, county records birth certificates, marriage licenses, and death certificates in the Eastern Illinois and Western Indiana are and I have found out some difinate information. First, my great-grandfather was Isaac Longfellow b:15 Sep 1854 in Edgar County, Illinois, USA M:25 Oct 1888 to Ellen Gertrude Waugh from East Lynn, Vermilion County, Illinois, USA and Died: 04 Mar 1912 in Hoopeston, Vermilion County, Illinois and is buried in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston, Illinois. His father was Thomas Longfellow b: 16 Sep 1824 in Vermilion, Indiana USA Southeast corner of Vermilion, just East of Paris, Illinois, USA M: 16 Feb 1854 in Vermillion County, Indiana USA to Mary Ellen Trader and died: 30 Apr 1912 in Hoopeston, Vermilion County, Illinois, USA and also is buried next to his son Isaac Longfellow in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston, Illinois, USA. His father's name was also Thomas Longfellow b: about 1789 as his tombstone in Newton Cemetery in Edgar County, Illinois list his death date as 15 Oct 1849 in Edgar, Illinois, Brouilletts Creek Township, Newton Cemetery USA. He was married to a women whose first name was Anny as was listed on census records. She is believed to have died near Greenup, Illinois as did her daughter-in-law Martha Ellen Trader Longfellow around 1870. I am still searching for more information on this. Thomas' tombstone also had that he had lived to be about 88 years old when he died. He was to have been born in Pennsylvania (However, it was what is probably now the state of Ohio. I am trying to search this out also. Any information that anyone can help me with would be greatly appreciated. I have two different fathers of the last Thomas. one being Gideon Longfellow married to Mary Redgrove and the other being Joseph Longfellow b: 09 Nov 1766 and married to Mary Flower on23 Jan 1802 and who died on 11 Dec 1865 in Concord,Champaign,Ohio,USA. Any help on which or if neither who was Thomas' (D:1849) father. Anyone who is doing research in Ohio, Indiana, Deleware, Maryland on the Longfellow Family would be greatly appreciated.
