From a police protocol:
Leontine Hoffmann's complaint about the judgement of the War Damage Commission, concerning vandalized apartment and
taking away silverware during the Civil War (Estonian War of Independence). The complaint is dated 19th of March 1927:
When the Germans left the Bolshevicks ransacked the city establishing

Leontine was still living in the apartment (5 rooms ) belonging to the Krenholm Manufacturing Company
She had the bad news about commies arriving late, and thus had to leave everything in there at " God's hands",
She managed only to pack the silverware into a steel box which she left at the office for safe keeping.
The Bolshevicks took over the apartment and lived there for weeks, and when they left, everything was removed. The apartment was empty, Also, Krenholm's office was looted and the box opened, so the silverware was gone. The servants had no information about this as the Bolshevicks seemed not to have any witnesses present while robbing.
