I was able to get to 1750, Chester, SC on the Liles, with John Liles being the Founder(?) of the line. My question is because the family moved from South Carolina into Tennesee, and supposedly forced to live in the Ozarks (I found a census roll in the 1860's showing my 2nd great grandfather George W. Liles, his sister, and two brothers) living in Marion Cty, AR as of the 1860 census. Wikipedia.com says that when the Cherokee were forcibly moved , they settled the Ozark Plateau. Problem is, while I see plenty of Curry members listed on the Dawes Roll, the Liles are not. Can anyone help me out on whether or not the Liles family has Cherokee blood or not? |
