There is a huge concentration of Germans in SE Pennsylvania, wrongfully called the Pennsylvania "Dutch." The majority are German (Deutsch), not Dutch.

So, yes, you will find them concentrated in this region. This can be both a blessing and a curse because the problem is so many of them had the same names. Unfortunately, Mary/Maria is a very common given name.
