I have more information on this family. In the 1850 Census he appears as Thomas Light, not Adam Light. I presume Thomas is his saint's name, as he ultimately went by Adam. But I haven't mistaken him. He is the right age, with a wife the right age and name, and with a child the right age and name. As I now have their full 1850 and 1870 census records, I have this information about them:

1850, New Hanover Twp., Lebanon Co., PA
1860, Indian Valley, Plumas Co., CA
1870, Indian Twp., Plumas Co., CA

Husband: (Thomas) Adam LIGHT
Birth: 1818/9, PA (probably Lebanon Co.)
Death: aft. 1870 (probably CA)

Wife: Susanna "Susan" STEIN
Birth: 1822/3, PA (possibly Schuylkill Co.)
Death: aft. 1870 (probably CA)

Children -- all born in PA:
1. Marcus Stein LIGHT, b. 16 Jul 1848; d. 13 Ded 1906, Quincy, Plumas Co., CA; m. Anna L. PARKER (b. VT; d. 28 Apr 1889, Plumas Co., CA)
2. Ephraim LIGHT, b. 1852/3
3. Theodore LIGHT, b. 1854/5
4. Eugene LIGHT, b. 1856/7

Looking for any information on Adam's kin.
