The descendants of Luke Matlock, b. ca. 1765 in Boutourt Co., VA are trying to find his wife who was also b. ca. 1765. Luke Matlock was probably living in Humphries or Dixon Co. TN at the time of his marriage ca. 1785. It is STRONGLY believed that Luke's wife was a member of the Light family of TN. I think Luke and his wife migrated to Limestone Co., AL by the 1820's. I believe this is where he and possibly his wife died. Unfortunately, not only do we not know his wife's maiden name, we also do not know her given name, when or where she was born, or when she died. My deceased cousin, Jess Armstrong, author of "They Multiplied - Story of The Matlocks/Medlocks", did extensive research on the Matlock family during the 60's & 70's. She was convinced that Luke's wife was a Light. Sorry to say, I don't know what it was that convinced her that this was so. If any of the researchers out there have any information from family stories passed down, or any Bible records that mention a Matlock or Medlock marriage to a Miss Light in the 1780's, please get in contact with me. Thanks for any help at all any of you can pass my way.
