Kathleen Simpson, 79, Rogersville, Hawkins Co TN, went
home to be with Jesus at her residence following an
extended illness.

She was a member of New Beginnings Church of Jesus Christ.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother
and loved to work in her garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Creasie and
Orgie Light, husband, D. I. Simpson; son, Randall Simpson;
brothers and sisters, Joyce, Geneva Light, Bertha Goad,
Chester Light, and Reese Light.

She is survived by her daughters, Delores and Gary
Stapleton, Joan and Roger Easterling of Nicklesville, VA;
sons, Gary and Cherlee Simpson of Kingsport, David and
Wanda Simpson of Rogersville, Bob Simpson of Rogersville,
TN, and Rick and Christy Simpson of Rogersville, TN; grand-
children, Brad Simpson, Eleta and Jeff Marshall, Betty Jo
Simpson, Travis and Crystal Simpson, Cindy Simpson, Kristie
and Harrison Pippin, Jerry Simpson, Nathan and Michelle
Simpson, Jessica and Richard Howell, Joseph and Savannah
Simpson, and Pennie and Randy Jarrett; twelve great grand-
children; brothers and sisters, Garfield Light, Margie
Ramey, Nellie Smith, and Clara Dykes; and several nieces
and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 12,
2009, at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill and anytime
at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 13,
2009, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Pastor
Larry Bledsoe and Pastor Charlie Taylor officiating. Music
will be provided by Ed and Eleanor Ward. Pallbearers will
be family and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted following the service
at Bowser cemetery.
