The couple named above married in America in about 1894. Winnie Pate was born in North Carolina. The couple lived in Farville, Virginia, USA at the time of the 1900 and 1910 census. They had 5 surviving children and the family moved back to Asaad's home of Lebanon sometime after the 1910 census with their children. There were 3 sons-Ali, Salim, and Ahmed and 2 daughters Hadla and Lisa. It is believed that sons Ahmed and Salim left Lebanon -- Ahmed to Argentina and Salim to Liberia. Ali also went to Africa, but he returned to Lebanon, married and had children named Yehya, Anwar, Seham, Bader, and Milya. I believe the family's hometown was Mtain and the real family name was possibly Kantar. I would very much like to contact a member of Ali's family. Am trying to learn where and when Winnie Pate Hani and Asaad Hani died. Their last known whereabouts was Buenos Aires, Argentina.
