The name from France going into Britain was Lisoures or originally Lisors...De Lisors........you can find it easily in the companions of William the Conqueror.....around 1060AD

from there indeed it did spread in Britain as lands were granted..........and formed the backbone of the last name Lezeare....and forms like that.

This is not the same as the Lesiers from the Le Mans regions of France: who only took the last name around the late 1400s...........and were original to the region since at least the late 800s AD........

This family is usually credited with being the originators of the Lasher and Leasure families of USA....
