Hi again, I've done some more research and definitely have the Leakey spelling in a place or two. I also think my Thomas Leeky might well be the Thomas Leekey listed in the Rockbridge County VA deed book. Since Virginia and North Carolina border each other I thought it might be a good idea to mention it to you. The information is on p. 81 and mentions the estate of a Robert Snodgrass. It also mentions 3 men named Walker. The Thomas Lekey/Leakey I'm researching ends up in Council Grove Kansas on the 1870 census living next door to a Scott family. Living with the Scott family is a Samuel/Lemuel Snodgrass. And, Thomas Lekey's daughter Susan marries a Daniel Hart. Daniel Hart has 2 brothers who married Walker women. If any of these surnames sound familiar, let me know. Thanks, Karren A.
