Those of you interested in the Lea families of Caswell and Person Counties, North Carolina are invited to view the following sites:
Caswell County Historical Association Website
Caswell County, North Carolina GenWeb Website
Caswell County Family Tree
CCHA/CCGW Message Board
CCHA Web Log
Caswell County Photograph Collection
Caswell County Cemetery Census
There you will find, among other things, articles on Solomon Lea (1807-1897), John G. Lea (c.1843-1935), Ann Wright Lea (1841-1940), and the town of Leasburg, North Carolina.
Included is a photograph essay on Leasburg architecture, showing (and describing) the homes of Solomon Lea, Gabriel Lea, and others.
The Lea and Graves families were closely related from their Virginia days and remained so in Caswell County. Quite a bit of Graves family information is included in these sites.
You are also invited to join the CCHA/CCGW Message Board, which has a narrower focus on Caswell County, North Carolina, that other boards covering the same geography. Membership, while restricted, is open to those who show their good intentions.
Wills and deeds also are included, and we have recently launched a cemetery census program that has as its goal to list every grave in Caswell County and to include a photograph of the gravestone.
The Caswell County Photograph Collection has 2.767 images, many related to Leasburg.
The CCHA Weblog has 124 articles, many with photographs.
And, the Caswell County Family Tree has more than 19,000 entries. Note that the Lea entries are being revised, as indicated in my earlier post. Can you help unscramble the John, James, and William Leas?
Take a look. Use what you need. Leave something in return.
