Looking for the family of Frederick and Catherine LAWYER born about 1800 and arrived in Stark County before 1834. Some of this family migrated to Whiteside County Illinois about 1858. Also a possable connection to the SHEFFER family in Stark County. The children's names were; 1, Jacob Lawyer born 1834 Stark County Ohio married to Leah about 1855. Migrated to Polk, Boone, Harrison and Carroll County Iowa. 2, Mary Lawyer born 1837 Wilmot, Stark County Ohio, married March 25, 1858 Whiteside County Illinois to Lewis WHETZEL. 3, William Lawyer; born about 1845 Stark County, listed as unmarried in 1880 and working for Rev. Cephas HURLESS in Whiteside County Illinois. 4, Frank Lawyer born about 1853 Ohio. 5, Elizabeth Lawyer born about 1848 presumed married by Aug 1866. 6, Sarah Lawyer born about 1848 presumed married by Aug 1866. 7 Nicholas Lawyer born about 1850. The family is said to be from Germany but most likely arrived in Ohio from PA. Wes Hart |
