Not to be too critical, but the expeditions of Dr. Thomas Walker are (or at least should be) well known to students of Kentucky history. He surveyed the Kentucky-Tennessee border (which is known as the "Walker Line"). There is a Kentucky State Historic Site in his honor, and no doubt numerous state historical markers. His name will be found in any Kentucky history text, and a reference to Henry Lawless, who was a member of that party) would be included in Dr. Walker's journals.

There are some matters of historical record that should be accepted starting points, not requiring proof or evidence in order to establish their validity, and surely the expedition of Dr. Walker is one of those matters.
