I am trying to understand some of my grandmother's writings (Eizenija Ozols). I have tried looking up on the internet the place called Kalsnar?and, the estate named Andricene, and tsarits regiment and have not had any success, maybe because of my spelling:
Eizenija Ozols' ancestors from her mother(Liene)father's side(Peter Ogaric/Ogrin)were originally from Sweden. They were incomers in the Russian Baltic states.
The incomer was from the Swedish army and bought land in Kalsnar?and (can not make out letter) and named his home Anderson (at least that is what it looks like).
Another spelling of an estate mentioned is Andricene. This grandfather was called old Andricene. He was a stranger in this country (and apparently disliked) but a good honest man. Perhaps Hernhut's beliefs (Moravians)was the answer. Peter's brother lived in Latgale.
Eizenija's grandfather from her father's side, Andrew Lasis, had been in the tharitsas (tsarits) regiment as a secretary for fifteen years.
Liene's brother, Jekabs, was the first to marry a Latvian wife, Asha.
