My grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Latimer born in Montville, Ct. Her parents were William C. Latimer, also of Montville, and Hannah Richmond Latimer. I have a death certificate from Coventry, Ct. for William and it shows his birthplace as Montville, Ct. and his parents as Samuel B. Latimer and Amy Smith, also of Montville. I checked Montville records and found reference to marriage of William C. Latimer to Hannah A. Richmond and the birth of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth. My problem is Montville has no birth certificate for William C. Latimer, even though his death certificate shows Montville. I checked New London also and they have no record. I am also trying to find birth certificate for Samuel B. Latimer b. 1802. Can anyone help me in my quest?
