William died at Winterborne Steepleton, Dorset in 1776 and is buried in a very prominant place inside the church. He married Mary around 1730 and they had issue Richard b1730 and Mary b1731. Both I know about, but it is where William hailed from that is a mystery. William and Mary lived in the manor farm house at Winterborne Steepleton, after it had come into his son's possision, along with the control of the manor estate. Some idea that he may come from Sherborne, Charlton Horethorne, Somerset, Boyton in Wilts, or quite possible from another link altogether, IE London. There is positive connection with a Richard Lambert Alderman and Sheriff of London in 1568. Thank you for the interest. |
