Gazaway Lamar Crittenden Jr., named for his famous Lamar ancestor, crashed his ultra-light airplane and died Aug.1, 2007 at age 63. He had owned and flown the plane for at least five years and appears to have been attempting to make it to the Hanson, MA airport but crashed nearby. Gaz was a friend and sometimes tennis partner who loaned me some of his information which I used in my book "Those Southern Lamars" in which Gazaway Lamar was one of the subjects. We'll miss you Gaz!
