Does anyone have information on these two locations in Georgia on the Ocmulgee River, and which Lamars they were named for? 1) Lamar's Fishery, Land Dist. 7, in original Baldwin, now Twiggs County. It is noted on an 1828 map as being on the east side of the Ocmulgee River, below Macon. Land plats and surveyor notes make reference to a Zachariah Lamar owning and purchasing a number of pieces of land in originally Wilkinson, Baldwin and Bibb Counties. (Which Zachariah Lamar?) 2) Lamar's Shoal-Lamar's Ferry- Lamar's Mill, Land District 14 in Original Monroe County, Georgia. |
