My husband's great-grandfather, only know as Joseph Bounty was born 10 Oct. 1822 in Canada (one account mentions Quebec but don't know if this is city or province of). Members of family said name was either LaBounty or LaBonte. He came to U.S. as a young man, settling in Greenwich, CT where he married Celestia Peck 20 Jan. 1851. Does anyone know how I might find the name of his parents and the place of birth.
