Thanks, Sandra. It looks like you found Thomas.
His brother William would not be in the 1860 census, since he died in 1850. However, I suspect Susan, age 42, could be William's widow (he would have been 57 if alive) and Bettie, at 18, probably his daughter. This is a significant find for me, and another step closer to locating these ancestors. Thanks so much!
Is that census available online? If so, can you point me to where it is, and a page number where you found them?
If not, is there any way I could get you to email me a photocopy?
You say the ladies are two houses away - so there must be some sort of reference to an address, or named homesite. If I can find out that information, maybe I can find someone who can see if there is a family grave at one of the houses, where the brothers William and Thomas might be buried.
