"Biographical & Historical Memoirs of Sabine, Grant, Red River, & Winn Parshes" indexed by Joyce Bridges can be ordered from J & W ENTERPRISES P.O. Box 17706 Shreveport, La. 71138-0706. William D. Stephens is listed among others of the Methodist Church South who obtained land and built a 2 story building for the church on the ground floor and Masonic Lodge on the 2nd floor. Not a lot of info there but it also has lengthly info on the town of Many and Ft. Jesop. Rev. James Miers Franklin was actually the pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church South at Ft. Jesop and founder of Ft. Jesop Institute...a center for learning. I've had that book for a long time and it has wonderful info about the early days in that part of the country and the people who lived then. Hope this was of some help. Marsha
