I am looking for an ancestor named Jacob Huffman/Hoffman. He arrived in Natchez, MS, on June 28, 1790, with a wife and 3 children "from Kentucky". It doesn't list a place though. I found a land record in Jefferson County, KY, for a Jacob Huffman in 1781. This a good possibility, as it would make Jacob App. 21 when that land was granted to him. However, I can't find him on any other tax lists in Jefferson County. So, I'm wondering if it's possible the original land was granted in what became Nelson County. Even a record that the same Jacob Huffman deeded his land to someone else in 1790 before he left would be helpful.
