Hi,

I've been researching the Thomas Cooper who died in Woodford County, KY in early 1814, but have not been able to discover where he came from. Can anyone help?

Thomas Cooper is first mentioned in Woodford County records when he bought several lots in Versailles Sep 6, 1808. He is mentioned as a trustee of Versailles in an 1809 deed. He is listed in the 1810 census as 26-45, with a wife (26-45) and 5 daughters (1 10-16, 4 <10). He received a pension for military service in 1810. He sold several lots in Versailles in 1811, deeds name his wife Elizabeth. In 1813 he gave consent for the marriage of his daughter Jane to a Lewis Endicott. The inventory/appraisement/sale of his estate was recorded in Apr, 1814 (Will Book D, p.156-157). I am certain he was also the father of Elizabeth (my ggg-gradmother), who went to be raised by Jane and Lewis Endicott after Thomas' death.

I suspect Thomas was related to the Coopers of nearby Shelby County (the Coopers who came from MD through western PA to KY), but havent found direct evidence of this. Can anyone help? Please?
